Audio/Acoustic Engineer

Overview
The Core Technologies team within the Enterprise Visibility and Mobility organization delivers seamless voice and data capabilities to our enterprise-class products, enabling customers' mission-critical business applications. We are seeking an Audio/Acoustic Engineer to contribute best-in-class
practices and design principles in the development of mobile computing products. This position will be located within our Holtsville, NY design center where the successful candidate will thrive within a stimulating, cross-functional, and innovative environment.
Seeking candidates with the following experience:
+ Experience with telephone, echo cancellation, handset design
+ Knowledge of GSM, CDMA, VoIP, VoLTE, and Media communication technologies
+ Familiarity with CAD design tools such as SDRC or ProE for 3D modeling or Cadence ECAD design tools.
+ Working knowledge of audio test and evaluation software and systems, including Acqua, SoundCheck, Adobe Audition, Life Test, UPV, and CMU/W test systems.
+ Experience working within cross-functional teams.
+ Experience working with a diverse team including third-party engineering organizations, domestic and abroad, to implement designs.
Responsibilities
+ The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of enterprise-class mobile computing devices within the audio/acoustic engineering team
+ Architects, designs, and supports developing, and testing of audio & acoustic design solutions to several highly-complex technical projects. Creates specifications for the projects. Leads technology roadmap process. Recommends project approach and goals.
+ Attends and contributes to product design reviews.
+ Performs acoustic analysis of existing and proposed electro-mechanical systems and mechanical enclosures with the objective to design optimized acoustic structures
+ Works with ID, ME, EE, SW, and Manufacturing teams to create designs that will meet audio and product requirements. Helps product team make appropriate trade-offs where necessary. Coaches others on how to effectively develop, communicate, and implement new solutions.
+ Performs quantitative evaluations of product designs to validate implementation meet established criteria for product acceptance.
+ Sets gains and tuning values.
+ Engages in advanced development activities to prepare innovations in product concepts and audio subsystem components.
+ Works with engineering teams and vendors to specify transducers (earpiece receivers, micro loudspeakers, and microphones) for product designs.
+ Maintains and enhances acoustic lab capabilities.
Qualifications
+ U.S. Only:
+ Preferred Education:Bachelor's degree or Masters in an appropriate engineering discipline required.
+ Preferred Work Experience (years): Bachelors degree and 9+ years experience or Masters degree and 6+ years experience
+ All other Regions:
+ Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
+ Preferred Work Experience (years): 9+ years experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
